Let the Holiday Season Begin!
It’s the time of year when stores begin to put out holiday and seasonal items 3 months too early. Halloween candy sits next to back-to-school displays, fall items are pushing out the summer clearance, and I’ve even seen displays already for…Christmas. I’m just beginning to get used to the idea of fall (where did 2021 go?), so I’m going to enjoy each season as it comes. I can’t deny, however, that October 31st will be here before we know it. And you know what that means. Yes…candy…so much of it, we won’t know what to do with the leftovers. We know we’ll see the traditional candy corn, Autumn mix, caramel apple suckers, and mini candy bars, but let’s take a moment and see what items have appeared on the shelves that are new and unique.

New Takes on Old Favorites
I’m excited to see the traditional candy brands of Halloween try something new this year. They may not be handed out in everyone’s Trick-or-Treat bags, but they might end up in my own candy bowl!

So other than changing the packaging, what can you do? Play with flavor, of course! We did some research into what flavors consumers associate with Halloween, specifically, not just fall. Take a look and see if you agree with these flavors. If you have any other ideas, feel free to leave a comment.
